Tall Pines Roofing roof installation on a Rochester, NY home

Window replacement in Caledonia

Window replacement for Caledonia homes, in the village and out along the town roads.

Tall Pines Roofing replaces windows across the Town of Caledonia and the Village of Caledonia. ProVia Endure is our lower-tier option, an ENERGY STAR-certified vinyl window with graphite foam insulation, barrier-fin and bulb-seal weatherstripping and many color choices. Vytex Potomac HP is our higher-tier option, with welded corners, VyCore reinforcement, a magnetic seal and Northern-zone triple-pane glass. We give free in-home estimates.

Caledonia has two local governments on the same Main Street: the town offices at 3109 Main Street and the village offices at 3095 Main Street. Each has its own code enforcement officer, so the first practical question for a window project is which side of the village line your house is on.

How can you tell if your Caledonia windows are failing?

Start with a few checks. Look for fog or moisture trapped between panes, paint that keeps peeling at the sill, sashes that rattle in the wind, and cold spots you can feel with your hand on a winter morning.

If two or three of those show up across most of the house, a whole-home replacement is worth pricing. As a representative range, energy-efficient vinyl replacement windows run roughly $450 to $1,200 each installed, with a typical whole home around $6,000 to $18,000 or more.

Weather & exposure

What do Caledonia winters demand from a window?

Caledonia is in the ENERGY STAR Northern climate zone, along with the rest of Upstate New York. A home on open ground takes more wind than one on a sheltered village street, and that wind adds to the heat lost through tired windows. A rigid, well-sealed frame and a good insulated glass unit make the biggest difference.

Which window fits

Endure or Potomac HP in Caledonia?

Endure covers most Caledonia homes well. It is ENERGY STAR certified and built with INNERGY thermal reinforcements instead of aluminum, plus 1-inch ComforTech DLA-UV insulated glass. If your house takes a lot of wind or you simply want the best we offer, Potomac HP's foam-filled frame, Q-Lon gasket and ENERGY SAVER MAX-hp triple-pane glass are the upgrade.

Permits & approvals

Who issues window permits in Caledonia?

In the town, permits come from the Code Enforcement Officer at Town Hall, 3109 Main Street, who issues permits and inspects projects under the New York State Building Code and the Caledonia Town Code. In the village, the Village of Caledonia's Code Enforcement Officer handles permits from 3095 Main Street. Tall Pines confirms permit needs with the right one before work starts.

Local answers

Caledonia window questions

Why does it matter whether I'm in the town or the village?

They are separate governments with separate code officers and permit applications. The right office depends on your address, and we confirm it before scheduling.

Do you offer slider windows?

Yes. Endure is made in 2-lite and 3-lite sliders, along with double hung, single hung and casement styles.

Will new windows stop condensation on the glass?

They can reduce it. Better insulated glass keeps the inside pane warmer, so less moisture condenses on it, though indoor humidity plays a part too. We talk through both at the estimate.
